Morgan Keegan First for New Flavor of Phase3
Memphis-based retail brokerage Morgan Keegan & Co. is the first firm to roll out Phase3 Integrated Broker Desktop–the fledgling SunGard Brokerage/Plaid Brothers collaboration debuted at the SIA show in June. A Phase3 client since 1987, Morgan Keegan officials plan to have the system in full production by the end of next month.
Sungard Brokerage Systems began building a real-time link between its Phase3 product and Plaid Brothers contact and retail portfolio management system just a few months ago. Using real-time replication and a common front-end browser interface, the Phase3 Integrated Broker Desktop was designed to offer brokers a single application to support the sales and trading processes from initial contact through ongoing customer activity and account management.
As Phase3 manages positions and trading activity, information instantly updates customer tax lot information contained in the Plaid portfolio management system.
The pairing of SunGard Brokerage and Plaid is not that much of a stretch, as both are operating units of SunGard Data Systems.
