Sanford C. Bernstein Offers Algos Via SunGard Global Network

Broker-dealer Sanford C. Bernstein is now offering access to its suite of algorithms covering twenty-four European markets via SunGard Global Network’s (SGN) low-latency market data and order routing system.

The SGN community is made up of 2,000 asset managers and 500 brokers, which will now have the ability to directly access the Bernstein algorithmic trading suite.

Commenting in the release, Toby Bayliss, co-head of Sanford C. Bernstein’s trading in Europe, said, "Connecting to the SunGard Global Network will extend our unconflicted electronic execution services and our algorithm offering to a broader global audience."

In the same release, Raj Mahajan, president of SunGard’s global trading business, stated, “Trading in fragmented liquidity environments and high-frequency trading have amplified the need for algorithmic trading capabilities. SunGard can help firms connect with leading algorithmic solution providers and facilitate algo take-up. Bernstein's full algorithmic trading offering will be available to over 2,000 asset managers and more than 500 sell-side brokers worldwide.”
