FSCC Promotes Cyber Security Issues in October
The Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council for Critical Infrastructure Protection and Homeland Security (FSSCC) plans to work with its members to actively promote awareness of cyber security issues in October.
The FSCC, which is a network of financial trade associations and private firms representing thousands of financial-services organizations, works closely with the U.S. Department of the Treasury and other regulators to coordinate the private sector's preparation for events that could disrupt the normal business of the financial services sector, such as cyber attacks, natural disasters and terrorism. The FSCC will ask its members to encourage customer participation in a wide range of virtual and online learning activities during the month of October.
On Monday, the FSCC announced that George Hender was elected vice chairman of the council in its recent meeting in Chicago. Hender, who is vice chairman of The Options Clearing Corporation, will work with Donald Donahue, the Treasury-appointed Sector Coordinator for Banking and Finance and Chairman of the Council in the senior leadership role to strengthen the nation's financial services infrastructure.
