Shifting Gears
PFPC Hires John Korn
PFPC, a global provider of fund services to the investment management industry, hired John Korn to serve in the newly created position of vice president, sales. The position supports PFPC's plan to expand its teams across all products. Korn will be responsible for new business development in PFPC's subaccounting (omnibus) line of business.
"It was John's understanding of the brokerage community that was so valuable for us," says Bill Salus, PFPC executive vice president and head of global business development.
Prior to joining PFPC, Korn was with investment firm J&W Seligman for seven years, where he was responsible for the sale of offshore products in Europe and the Middle East. "When I was working for Seligman, I was actually selling investment product - now I'm selling a product that supports investment product," Korn says. Of the ideological shift, Korn says, "It's a bit of a change of gears, but the industry is very small, so it's a lot of the same people and the same knowledge base."
