Merrill Lynch has signed on to implement IMlogic's IM Manager software for the management and archiving of instant messaging across the firm. The IM Manager system will link to Merrill's existing directory systems, data storage and e-mail archiving systems. The software supports messaging networks and servers, including AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, Yahoo! Instant Messenger, IBM Lotus Sametime and Microsoft Exchange 2000 Instant Messenger.
The Risk Management Association has teamed up with Automated Financial Systems to provide independent, external benchmarking for commercial lending risk exposure. The Risk Analysis Service benchmark data will enable bankers to assess the commercial risk profile of their institution in the context of industry risk for comparable segments of their portfolio. The service aims to help banks comply with the upcoming Basel Accord credit risk requirements with information by portfolio segment including asset size, loan product, collateral type, vintage and industry.
Information Builders, a provider of data management and delivery products, has partnered with Knowco, a risk-management consultancy, to launch an anti-money laundering solution for the financial-services industry. The AML solution will help compliance officers abide by new regulations with data collection, integration and analysis. The solution is based on iWay Software, which provides adaptors to access more than 140 databases, file systems and transaction management systems to cut implementation times for AML initiatives. Information Builders' WebFocus will be deployed to report on suspicious activities.
