InfoStep Stands Up to Sox

Still stumped by Sarbanes Oxley? InfoStep, has released eLustroHarmony, a risk-management and compliance tool to help get firms on track with SOX.

Still stumped by Sarbanes Oxley? InfoStep, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based software provider, has released eLustroHarmony, a risk-management and compliance tool to help get firms on track with SOX.

eLustroHarmony offers enterprise control of disparate business systems and locations, according to a spokesman for the vendor. The solution goes beyone initial compliance, he says, and ensures that a firm maintains compliance longterm.

The software automates routine periodic-assessment programs, progress reports and escalations, to ensure that chief financial officers, audit directors, process owners and control owners are in continuous compliance with SOX, he adds.

The solution runs a continuum which includes planning and modeling of necessary controls, then administration and monitoring of those controls.

Next, there is analysis of the control processes. eLustroHarmony also tracks issues to pinpoint sources of contention, and finally produces reports for regulatory bodies.

Implementation begins with exporting existing documentation in Excel or XML form into eLustroHarmony, at which point workflow-specific customization can occur.

It can also integrate with external record-management or reporting systems, says the spokesman, but comes prepackaged with components for compliance and certification.

An executive dashboard allows for an overall view of the internal-control environment, says the spokesman, because "anytime, anywhere access is required to measure, monitor and take corrective actions."
