Futures Pro Joins Hotspot FXi
Business contacts are hot commodities, and James Curley knows a lot of people. That's why Hotspot FXi, an electronic marketplace for institutional foreign currency trading, hired Curley as a director. "Jim is a guy who has been involved in the currency markets and the commodities marketplaces for decades," says John Eley, Hotspot FXi's CEO.
During a career that spans futures, securities and managed futures firms, Curley has been chairman and CEO of Cresvale International (U.S.); chairman and CEO of Republic Bank New York Securities Corporation; and executive vice president of Prudential Securities and E.F. Hutton. He is also a former director and executive committee member of the Chicago Board of Trade. Most recently, Curley founded his own firm, which specialized in alternative-investment product development, trade processing and prime-brokerage services.
In his new role, Curley is responsible for hybrid sales and business development. He will work closely with potential partners in order to open up new sales channels, says Eley. Based in Hotspot's Warren, N.J., headquarters, Curley reports to Rob Flescher, global head of sales. Ivy is Editor-at-Large for Advanced Trading and Wall Street & Technology.
