Lehman's US Equity Trading and Research Relaunched under Barclays Capital Brand

Barclays Capital relaunches US Equity Trading and Research now including Lehman assets

Barclays Capital has fully re-launched Lehman Brothers' US equity trading and research under the Barclays Capital name. Sales and trading activity has re-launched in US institutional agency, program trading and listed options. Equity research has resumed publication, with full coverage of approximately 1,000 companies, representing nearly 90 percent of the S&P 500's market capitalization. The re-launch in equities follows similar integrations of investment banking activities including M&A, debt capital markets, risk management and leveraged finance.

"Barclays Capital is pleased to re-launch our US Equity operations," said Gerald Donini, head of equities, in a press release. "We will continue to focus on delivering superior equity capital markets content, service and execution to our clients," he added.

"Barclays Capital is delighted to initiate its top-ranked equity research coverage," said Larry Kantor, head of research, in the release. "We now have a complete research platform across equities, fixed income, credit, commodities, foreign exchange, emerging markets and economics, and remain committed to providing clients with market-leading research to help them make more informed investment decisions," he said.

Ranked number one by Institutional Investor magazine consecutively for the past five years, Barclay’s equity research coverage universe includes the following industries: Basic Industries, Consumer, Energy & Power, Financial Services, Healthcare, Industrial, Internet & Media, Power & Utilities, Real Estate, Retail, Services, Technology and Telecommunications. The department also includes quantitative, convertible, derivative and strategy research teams.
