StreamBase Partners with MarketFactory for Algorithmic FX Trading

MarketFactory and StreamBase plan to offer a complete low-latency FX trading platform.

StreamBase has partnered with MarketFactory, a technology firm providing algorithmic FX trading applications.

The partnership will help hedge funds, banks and proprietary trading firms speed up their time to begin trading in the foreign exchange market, according to today╒s release. "Accurately interpreting market data from legacy exchanges is a major recurring issue for all firms seeking to trade the institutional FX market," commented Richard Tibbetts, CTO of StreamBase, in the release "'MarketFactory's advanced software connectivity provides FX microstructure expertise that would normally take years of trading for a firm to acquire," added Tibbetts in the release.

According to both companies, MarketFactory's ECN gateway software provides "lossless" market data normalization. "Through integration with StreamBase's FX trading framework, the duo will be able to support the rapid development of program trading models and GUI front-ends, as well as e-commerce, pricing and risk management engines."

"We are impressed with the range of applications customers can build quickly using StreamBase's Event Flow Language," stated James Sinclair, CEO of MarketFactory, which was established in 2007 by veterans of FX consortium EBS, who brings decades of expertise in electronic trading market structure, "Together with StreamBase, we are able to offer a complete low-latency FX trading platform that will get customers live and trading on over five FX order driven ECNs, in a matter of weeks," further stated Sinclair in the release.
