Nexaweb And Pyxis Mobile Join Forces To Modernize Legacy Apps For Mobile Platforms

The integration between the vendors will create opportunities for companies to create new mobile customer service, financial trading, real-time news and data streaming solutions on iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Android applications.

Nexaweb Technologies and Pyxis Mobile announced that the two companies are partnering to help organizations extend the modernization of their legacy applications to include mobile devices and enable new business processes that fuel growth.

Nexaweb provides solutions for migrating and extending business applications to the web while Pyxis Mobile delivers a mobile enterprise application platform.

Applications modernized to the web with Nexaweb deliver interactive, rich user interface experiences with real-time data streaming to Internet users via any web browser, including those running on mobile devices, the vendor said.

Integration between Nexaweb and the Pyxis Mobile platform now enables the same experience to be deployed as native iPad, iPhone, Blackberry and Android applications. This will create opportunities for companies to create new customer service, financial trading, real-time news and data streaming solutions, according to a release.

"Pyxis Mobile's enterprise application platform, which is used by companies across the globe to extend internal enterprise systems for use by mobile professionals is a perfect complement to Nexaweb's proven software and services for modernizing legacy applications," T.L. Neff, EVP of product management and client services at Pyxis Mobile, said in a release.

With the installed base of smart phones expected to top the total for PCs or laptops by 2013, mobile devices are a computing platform that needs to be part of every IT organization's application strategy.

"Partnering with Pyxis Mobile strengthens Nexaweb's ability to modernize legacy applications, making them securely available to employees, partners and customers, anytime and anywhere, from any device," said Chris Heidelberger, CEO at Nexaweb Technologies, Inc.

"Together, we can enable more organizations to increase their efficiency, enhance productivity and improve top-line growth by transforming workflow, providing real-time access to data and improving response time and quality."
