Asset Manager Henderson to Deploy Bloomberg’s TCA

Investment management firm Henderson Global Investors, which has more than $90 billion in assets under management, announced it will use Bloomberg’s transaction costs analysis for its equity business.

Investment management firm Henderson Global Investors, which has more than $90 billion in assets under management, announced it will use Bloomberg's transaction costs analysis for its equity business.

The London-based company said it was prompted to make the move in the wake of mounting regulatory scrutiny across the globe, along with rising competition for assets among buy-side players. Widespread liquidity fragmentation and a broader range in choice of executing strategies also factored into the decision to turn to Bloomberg's TCA offering, Henderson added.

"BTCA is flexible, intuitive and integrates seamlessly with all the familiar Bloomberg functions we use day-to-day, allowing us to analyze quickly the facts behind a certain performance number," Andy Munro, Henderson's global head of trading said in a statement. "The on-demand reporting and flexibility to create custom reports means we can investigate and analyze issues quickly and efficiently and then make changes to our trading strategies."

The asset manager also said that it uses Bloomberg EMSX, a multi-asset, broker-neutral execution management system to manage orders, hunt liquidity, and monitor trading performance.
