OCE Interactive Releases New Stock Research Platform

OCE's Comps Companion explains why a company trades at different multiples relative to a group of peers across U.S. equities.

OCE Interactive released a new research platform, Comps Companion, to help explain the differences in trading multiples across a group of peers in U.S. equities.

The introduction of OCE Comps Companion follows the earlier release of Market Topographer platform for researching, benchmarking and comparing U.SS equities.[Editor's note: See Wall Street & Technology's earlier story on Market Topographer here.]

Traditionally, trading comps are widely used in equity valuation across Wall Street to identify companies that trade at a premium or discount within a given peer group, according to Jonathan Greenberg, president and CEO of New York-based OCE Interactive, commenting in the press release. Comps Companion builds on that foundation, Greenberg said, “Comps Companion explains why each company trades at a particular relative premium or discount to the group, due to, among other things, its financial leverage, dividend payout ratio or growth expectations relative to the group,” he stated.

Presented through an “easy-to-read” heat map, Comps Companion is powered by the same core technology as OCE’s Market Topographer platform. OCE Interactive is a financial services firm that provides customized research into the relative valuation dynamics of U.S. stocks.

“We designed Comps Companion to help both the buy side and sell side on Wall Street do a better job of understanding and forecasting relative trading multiples, by accounting for market wide characteristics that should contribute to a difference in multiples and increasing the comparability of a company or peer group’s historical and current valuation experience,” stated Greenberg.
