Displaying Treasury Data in 3-D

Cantor Fitzgerald is rolling out a new market-data product that displays Treasury benchmark prices in a three-dimensional format. "It's live, real-time prices" coming from the eSpeed system, says Bernard Weinstein, senior managing director of Cantor Fitzgerald in New York City.

With Cantor 3G Single View, the trader is focusing on single instruments, such as the two-year, three-year, five-year, 10-year and 30-year U.S. Treasury bonds, which are the on-the-run benchmarks. The second flavor, known as Cantor 3G Total View, will show all the benchmarks on one screen.

"The whole concept is to give somebody an instant sense of where the market is today, the supply/demand characteristics, and its likely trend based on both the active stack and the limit order book," Weinstein says.
