Scotia Capital Deploys BT Voice Trading Systems with Built-In BCP

Scotia Capital, a Canadian corporate and investment bank, has deployed voice trading systems across its 250-position trading floor in Toronto and at 100 trading positions at its remote business continuity planning center located outside the city The new system by BT, a financial trading technology provider, uses Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology to connect the two sites. The DWDM capability enables the simultaneous operation of the sites and removes the need to duplicate system administration as they will be linked in real-time, the company said in a statement. Consequently, the technology provides better, built-in business-continuity resilience through the interconnected trading system, while also lowering operating costs, said Keith Hill, senior manager, Trading Technologies, Scotia Capital, in the press release.
