CCBN's StreetEvents added to Bloomberg Professional; Dow Jones Newswires and Communicator Inc. agrees to combine products to deliver financial news and information; Prebon Technology Group selects I-Deal Data Systems to handle internal and external distribution of market data; TimesTen upgrades its flagship product for events processing.

CCBN's StreetEvents, a real-time corporate-events transcripts service, has been added to Bloomberg Professional. The service, which can operate as a stand-alone product on a PC or incorporated into a Bloomberg terminal, provides corporate-event data via interlinking services such as an event calendar, briefs and verbatim transcripts of corporate calls. "As a portfolio manager, we closely follow about 50 companies," says Royce Medlin, CFA, the senior vice president and portfolio manager at Dallas-based Belmont Asset Management. "It takes a full-time job of one person to get that information. StreetEvents makes it more manageable."

Dow Jones Newswires and Communicator Inc. have agreed to combine products to deliver financial news and information. The agreement will integrate Dow Jones' news content with Communicator's Hub IM, a messaging and collaboration, identity management and content-aggregation technology. Available through Dow Jones' news feeds include News Service, Capital Markets Report, World Equities Report, Corporate Filings Alert, Energy Service and NewsPlus. The resulting solution, which is priced based on the type of news feed and the number of users, is currently available to Dow Jones' and Communicator's customers, as well as prospective customers.

Prebon Technology Group, which selects, develops and implements technology for the institutional broker, Prebon Yamane, recently selected I-Deal Data Systems to handle internal and external distribution of market data. In addition, a global agreement has also named IDDS to provide strategic infrastructure and integration systems to Prebon Yamane's 1200 brokers. The first step of the project, which went live earlier this month, was a thin-client management tool for administration of Prebon's reference data. The firm expects other deliverables including a market-data distribution system and a front to back-office work-flow integration.

TimesTen, a California-based market-data vendor, recently upgraded its flagship product for events processing. TimesTen Real-Time Event Processing System will offer improved throughput, recovery and availability. In addition, users can access and share the same data simultaneously. The tool features a new locking model to eliminate delays between readers and writers and also supports servers based on Intel's Itanium 2 Processor.
