Reuters issues update on U.S. operations following last week's events at the World Trade Center; Xpresstrade launches a new tool for self-directed retail futures traders; Imperial Technology releases MegaTrade Program to provide existing MegaRam customer with a cost-saving upgrade path to more current models.

Reuters has issued an update on U.S. operations following last week's events at the World Trade Center, where it operated a data distribution facility in support of about 3,000 of its 558,000 global accesses. Customers whose services were affected by the disruption are being migrated to other Reuters' data distribution facilities. Reuters is also making available a cross-market package of real-time news and financial information on its Web site, www.reuters.com, free of charge. Institutions can contact Reuters at 800-435-0101 to receive a free password to access the information. Reuters is also making available various short-term support services such as space, phone lines and communications to clients and partners who had business operations in the affected areas.

Xpresstrade, an Internet-based futures brokerage firm, has launched a new tool for self-directed retail futures traders. The Dynamic Quotes application is a Java-based, real-time streaming quotewatch product. It is customizable and allows futures traders to create multiple quote portfolios and to select column headings to display. Price alert functionality notifies customers by e-mail when predefined upper or lower price targets have been met in the futures markets they're tracking. Apart from exchange market data fees, the Dynamic Quotes application is offered free of charge to Xpresstrade clients.

Imperial Technology, a manufacturer of solid-state disk and file-cache appliances has released its MegaTrade Program to provide existing MegaRam customer with a cost-saving upgrade path to more current models. The program allows MegaRam systems as old as 10 years to be rejuvenated to newer interface connections and higher storage capabilities. It enables customers to reuse their existing memory modules and components.
