IN BRIEF

Syllog licenses ACI Worldwide's PaymentWare; ADP now offering Global Processing Solution; Financial Exchange Service Ltd. launching Web-based version of its global payment and reporting service.

--Syllog, Inc., a company focused on the IT requirements for securities processing, has licensed ACI Worldwide's PaymentWare--a family of business-to-business e-commerce solutions for payment and messaging. PaymentWare will be used to power Syllog's S.W.I.F.T Services Bureau (SSSB). As part of the agreement, ACI's corporate banking business unit will have exclusive rights to market and sell SSSB worldwide. SSSB serves as a means for financial institutions and securities-related operations to outsource their communications with the international S.W.I.F.T network for securities trading and processing.

--ADP is now offering Global Processing Solution (GPS). GPS is an integrated global processing platform that enables firms to operate in any instrument, in any market, and at any time: GPS supports the processing, clearance, settlement and custody of virtually all financial instruments, including foreign currency, fixed income, equities, commodities and derivatives. The service also features intelligent order routing and management capabilities which allow orders to be routed to any domestic exchange, ECN, external broker or firm trading desk.

--Financial Exchange Service Ltd. (FES) is launching a Web-based version of its global payment and reporting service for banks and corporate clients. The service offers straight-through processing over the Internet, for corporations and small to medium enterprises, using an XML interface to enable payments into banks via the S.W.I.F.T network. FES provides a financial transaction processing facility that can be private labeled by banks to enable their corporate clients to make multi-currency, cross-border payments via S.W.I.F.T.

--Candle has integrated Javelin's Coppelia FIX solution into its CandleNet eBusiness Platform. The Platform is an enabling technology that connects disparate systems. The new S.W.I.F.T.-to-FIX interface, which joins two distinct protocols with two separate business focuses, is another step in Candle's goal to achieve straight-through processing (STP). JavelinTechnologies is a provider of FIX solutions for the global securities marketplace and Candle is a global software and service company.

--Netik.com, a supplier of end-to-end straight-through processing and e-business solutions for financial services, had achieved throughput of 7.4 million complex financial transactions per hour with its xNetik InterChange financial integration product. The testing was carried out in conjunction with Microsoft and Compaq at Microsoft's test labs in Redmond, and was aimed at examining the scalability of xNetik InterChange and its ability to handle high volumes of complex financial transactions. The transactions consisted of loading complex financial messages from a file into a database, extracting and formatting the information into an XML message, and transmitting it into a back-office application over MQSeries.

--The DTCC's Depository Trust Company (DTC) subsidiary and Thomson Financial ESG (ESG) plan to combine their existing services into a new integrated trade management solution for both domestic and cross-border trades. The plan incorporates existing ongoing product development schedules at both firms, with some links being planned in the hopes of speedy regulatory approval for the yet-to-be-named joint venture. Short-term, the firms anticipate linking a number of their existing ETC services in order to create greater trade-processing efficiencies for their clients.
