ePIT names Timothy E. Campbell president and chief operating officer; Stephen Ficara and Joel Gallo join TradingLinx.com; The Chicago Mercantile Exchange to launch new group of contracts, the FORTUNE e-50 index futures, on Sept. 5.

ePIT, a San Francisco-based applications developer that provides Internet-enabled software to regulated and B2B exchanges, has named Timothy E. Campbell president and chief operating officer. Campbell most recently served as vice president and general manager of Kana Online, the application services provider unit of Redwood City-based Kana Communications. At ePIT, Campbell will report to Richard Friesen, the company's chairman and founder.

Stephen Ficara and Joel Gallo have joined TradingLinx.com, a New York City-based application service provider that supplies trade confirmation tools to the financial services community. Ficara, the former vice president for global capital markets operations at Deutsche Bank, is now heading up TradingLinx's operations team. Gallo, the ex-vice president of investment administration and technology at ScudderKemper Investments, is in charge of TradingLinx's buy-side relationships.

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange expects to launch a new group of contracts, the FORTUNE e-50 index futures, on Sept. 5. The FORTUNE e-50, which will be the first Internet-based index futures contracts traded on the CME, will trade virtually 24-hours a day on the exchange's Globex2 electronic trading system.

The International Securities Exchange, an all-electronic U.S. options market launched on May 26, traded its one-millionth contract on August 8. The exchange, which eventually plans to trade the top 600 U.S. equity options, currently trades 70 issues.
