Charles River Development has certified FIX connectivity between the Charles River Trading System(CRTS) and Salomon Smith Barney, a member of Citigroup, Hong Kong, thereby expanding the investment banking firm's electronic-dealing-capabilities in Asia Pacific. This ensures that investment managers using CRTS can electronically route securities orders via FIX to SSB for execution in real time. SSB routes the completed trade information back to CRTS for allocation.
Citing strong demand from securities firms for low-cost,direct-access connections to options markets, the International Securities Exchange (ISE) launched a virtual-private-network connectivity solution. The VPN allows broker/dealers to use ISE trader workstations to route orders to the electronic options market over the Internet. ISE's VPN is available to ISE Electronic Access Members. The VPN has security and encryption features that are comparable to a private network over dedicated communications lines and is less expensive to operate, ISE contends.
FXall, the currency-trading portal, signed an exclusive agreement with Moneyline Telerate to distribute FX quote data on hundreds of foreign currency pairs. The data was previously only available to FXall's 43 liquidity providers and their institutional customers. Under the agreement, Moneyline Telerate will have access to real-time pricing in both the spot and forward FX markets.
