Northern Trust has selected a customized version of Morningstar's online investment planning system to support its brokerage and mutual fund operations. Morningstar Advisor Workstation will provide Northern Trust's financial advisers with tools to customize clients' financial plans, according to a press release. The firm has already implemented the workstation's research and sales modules, which includes Morningstar Quicktake Reports to examine performance, risk, underlying holdings and expense information as well as mutual-fund hypotheticals.
Rorer Asset Management, a Philadelphia-based investment-management firm, recently announced its creation of Advantage Outsourcing, a back-office outsourcing company to offer customized automated solutions for the separately managed-accounts industry. The newly developed company will provide account administration and back-office-workflow solutions to Rorer and other investment firms specializing in separately managed accounts. The system is powered by OnBase, an integrated document-management system by Hyland Software.
A new performance-analysis system has been released by Barra, a risk-technology vendor based in California. According to a press release, the system, Enterprise Performance, delivers investment-performance-attribution analysis for multi-asset-class portfolios based on daily data. In addition, the solution provides reporting that complies with industry standards including Global Investment Performance Standards.
Geneos Wealth Management has selected StatementOne's consolidated portfolio-accounting and performance-reporting solution to add to its technology infrastructure. According to a press release, the partnership will provide back-office technology to wealth-management advisers.
