Pro Cap, LLC selects Web-based wealth-management platform from eMoney Advisor; Stifel, Nicolaus & Company selects Placemark Investment's TOTAL Overlay Portfolio Management Services to help its investment executives; New compliance and portfolio management solution develops to interface Eagle Investment Systems and Charles River Development.

Pro Cap, LLC, an investment advisory firm focusing on sports and entertainment clients, has selected a Web-based wealth-management platform from eMoney Advisor. Using tools such as e-mail alerts and alarms, aggregation and reporting and online storage, AdvisorPlatform will enable advisors to view their clients' financial portfolio holistically, as well as identify strengths and weaknesses in asset allocation, keep accounts current and monitor changes in portfolios. Pro Cap has made the decision to implement the technology solution following a successful pilot project.

Stifel, Nicolaus & Company recently selected Placemark Investment's TOTAL Overlay Portfolio Management Services to help its investment executives focus on fee-based business, says Scott McCuaig, president and co-chief operating officer at the Boston-based brokerage and investment firm, in a company release. The technology solution will allow Stifel Nicolaus clients to invest in tax-optimized, multi-style account products, while also enabling independence for money managers.

Eagle Investment Systems and Charles River Development are developing an interface to integrate their products. The interface will link Eagle PACE, a data hub and portfolio management solution, to Charles River's integrated portfolio management, compliance and order management suite. The first phase of the interface is scheduled to be available in the second quarter.

Asset managers can now take greater advantage of PFPC Inc.'s automated tax services suite as a stand-alone product. The suite, developed by a group under the PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., also has potential to be used for fixed income securities instead of simply equity securities, because of enhancement to its automated sales wash processing system which helps calculate losses for a fund.

Top Quotes of the Week
It wasn't all bad luck for the capital markets this week: Hedge funds had a decent first quarter despite a slowdown in jobs numbers, BlackRock might be heading into new territory as hedge fund managers take a hard look at their counterparties, and the head of the IMF didn't pull any punches when assessing today's global economy. At least we can admire the nice weather and some of the best quotes of the week.
