SunGard Launches Overlay Asset Management Software

SunGard Advisor Technologies this week introduced a Unified Overlay Management Program designed to allow greater customization and tax-efficiency in client portfolios. SunGard says it can support institutions that want to serve as the overlay manager using SunGard's Portfolio Manager technology, or that want to outsource overlay activity to a third party. "Overlay management is a customized investment vehicle that coordinates the three dimensions of portfolio management -- return, risk and taxes," said George Myers, executive vice president of SunGard Asset Management Systems, in a statement.
