Pragma has named Jaime Jofre as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the independent provider of trading solutions to buy and sell side clients.

Jofre will be responsible for leading Pragma’s technology teams across application development, quality assurance, infrastructure, and application support. Most recently Jofre served as head of product development technology at Liquidnet Holdings, where he was responsible for heading the firm’s product and technology development functions and overseeing the global expansion of the ATS for buy-side clients. Prior to this position, Jofre worked more than ten years at major financial institutions, including JP Morgan Chase, where he was responsible for the global Equities and F&O algorithmic trading technology program, and Merrill Lynch, where he held several senior leadership positions in technology supporting the equity front office businesses, including Head of the Equity Technology Data and Analytics Group. Commenting on the appointment of Jofre, Pragma’s CEO David Mechner, said: “At Pragma, the quality of our software and services, and the sophistication of our products distinguishes us from our competitors. Jaime’s uncompromising approach and broad industry experience will strengthen our position as we expand our offering and the breadth of our services.” Jofre is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, and has studied the development and management of technology and product strategy at MIT Sloan.
