Fully customized and scalable is how FutureSource/Bridge is touting its new technical analysis and charting software, Professional 2.0. Released in early July, Professional allows traders to create custom workspaces and display and analyze real-time prices and news for the futures and options markets. "It's a very comprehensive product and we're trying to cater it to everyone," says Chris Harrison, product manager at FutureSource/Bridge.

The Professional has been in development for three years and is currently being used at about 15 different sites. "The response has been overwhelming," adds Harrison. "We have received over 2,000 e-mails in the first three days of sales." Professional is a 32-bit application written in C++ with drag and drop techniques displaying futures contracts in price pages, charts and studies. Unlimited workspace is also a key feature of Professional, with 36 virtual pages each capable of holding an unlimited number of price pages, charts and news windows.

Professional is also customizable, offering users three or four different ways to set up their charts, pages and windows along with floating tool bars that can be turned on or off. "We realized that some traders like a lot of screen space and a lot of real estate so for those traders they can turn the tool bars off or position them vertically rather than horizontally, it's all completely customizable," says Harrison.

Professional also supports full Windows functionality, has "context sensitive help" to assist traders and offers real-time news and advisory packages. The system is available in three configurations: Professional Plus, Professional Express and Professional Quotes and News. Harrison says installation price depends on how the customer receives their information, via satellite feed or dedicated circuit connection. The versions run $395 per month for Plus, $250 per month for Express and $150 per month for Quotes and News.
