* SunGard promotes Cristobal Conde to CEO. * Clients can send orders to Instinet Global Crossing. * Securities and Exchange Commission schedules a meeting to determine whether the Nasdaq Stock Market has satisfied conditions for launching SuperMontage.

SunGard, a global supplier of trading and risk management systems, has promoted Cristobal Conde to chief executive officer. Since joining SunGard in 1987, Conde has held a variety of titles, including executive vice president, chief operating officer, and, most recently, president. James Mann, SunGard's former CEO, continues to serve as the chairman of the company's board of directors

Instinet clients that use version 3.9 or higher of Eze Castle Software's Traders Console can now send orders to Instinet Global Crossing from their front-end, and receive trade reports after the cross is finished via FIX. In June, Instinet clients that use the Macgregor Financial Trading Platform (version 6.14.7) were also given access to Instinet Global Crossing Services directly from their workstation.

As expected (ET briefs, Aug. 15), the Securities and Exchange Commission has scheduled a meeting for the last week of August to determine whether the Nasdaq Stock Market has satisfied all of the commission's conditions for launching SuperMontage -- Nasdaq's next-generation order-display and execution network. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Aug. 27.
