Founded in 2002, the institutional agency-only brokerage firm began as a floor brokerage operation on the New York Stock Exchange. Today, DAP runs the floor brokerage operation with about a dozen traders in one of the NYSE's new trading pods. The NYSE floor operation is set up as a branch office. 'They have the ability to trade on the floor, off the floor, with dark pools and ECNs,' says Ben Chinea, founder and CEO of DAP.
