Brazilian Market Maker Chooses Orc

Orc Group's platform was selected by an aggressive Brazilian market -maker Marcelo Sacomori to quote options and futures on the BM&FBovespa exchange.

Sao Paulo-based market maker Marcelo Sacomori is using Orc Market Maker for advanced options trading and market making strategies on the Brazilian BM&FBovespa exchange, according to Orc Group, the technology provider in the company’s release.

Marcelo Sacomori is using Orc Market Maker, a server-based trading solution designed for options trading and quoting, to quote options on futures on the region’s largest exchange, BM&FBovespa, the company said. Orc’s software leverages Orc’s 20 years of experience in building and deploying high-performance options quoting solutions, the global technology provider to hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, investment banks, brokerage firms and market makers, said.

In the release, Sacomori commented, “Orc Market Maker has been a very good fit for my trading. I needed a solution that was fast, easy to use, and painless to deploy. Orc fit these needs perfectly with a very fast and reliable trading platform that will help increase my business in this market.”

According to Ruben Guerrero, Brazil Sales Director for Orc, noted, “Orc has made great strides in the Brazil market. “Marcelo Sacomori is the latest example of a demanding Brazilian trader coming to Orc to increase his business in this growing market. According to the company, the market maker platform addresses the present and future challenges of market makers, including the need for low-latency quoting and to efficiently reach multiple markets using a single interface. It has additional features for sophisticated volatility and pricing management, including a volatility management interface and a Volatility Model API (application programming interface) which facilitates development of proprietary models. Orc also provides pre-defined and configurable volatility models, as well as built-in pricing models for accurate quoting and hedging.
