Donald Weeden and Glenn Phillips have assumed new roles at Automated Trading Systems, a New York City-based supplier of Internet trading applications. Weeden, the chairman of ATS, has been given the additional title of interim CEO; Phillips, the former chief financial and administrative officer of ATS, has taken over as president and chief operating officer of the company. Phillips also currently works as COO of LimiTrader Securities, an ATS subsidiary that sells electronic bond trading systems. He will retain that title until a successor can be found.
The OM Stockholm Exchange is currently in the process of recruiting a successor to Carl Johan Hogbom, the exchange's incumbent president. Hogbom plans to leave OM in mid-January to pursue his own business interests. Simon Nathanson, CEO of the OM Fixed Income Exchange, will act as the interim president of the OM Stockholm Exchange until a successor to Hogbom is found.
WallStreetCity.com and TradingMarkets.com have formed an alliance that calls for the firms to offer financial and trading courses to investors over the Internet. The courses the firms will jointly conduct will Hot IPO Trading, Intermediate-Term Momentum Trading, Day Trading and Short-Term Trading.
