SimCorp to Help Clients Mitigate Risk in a Response to Market Turmoil

Soluition enable clients to mitigate risk, reduce costs and enable growth

The increasingly complex investment management environment and the current financial crisis have shown that improved risk management is crucial for financial institutions to stay competitive in ever-changing markets. Releasing the new version of its product SimCorp Dimension, a software solution for the investment management industry, responds to this challenge in its continued effort to enable clients to mitigate risk, reduce costs and enable growth, according to the firm.

A key part of the 100,000 person-hours spent over the last six months has been dedicated to developing front, middle and back office functionality that enable clients to mitigate enterprise risk. It offers risk management now extended with multi-factor models, powered by APTTM; top level reconciliations functionality to ensure investment strategy execution based on correct data; new Fund FTP Server for cost-efficient workflows with customizable exception handling calculation of theoretical prices and key ratios for credit derivatives, based on market-tested, proven models and functions from FINCADTM; and automation, improved client reporting workflow and audit trail.

"A renewed focus on risk, compliance and governance has emerged as a result of the global financial crisis and mitigating risk has never been more important to the North American investment community," said David Kubersky, president of SimCorp North America, in a press release. "SimCorp Dimension has always provided seamless tools for valuation, audit and reporting, but version 4.5 raises the bar on managing risk through increased transparency and enhanced automation, he added.
