Risk Newsflashes
Jonathan Howitt, director of operational risk for Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW) in London, has joined the Professional Risk Managers' International Association's (PRMIA) Education and Standards Committee.
Howitt will work with other committee members from four continents, all leading academicians and practitioners, who develop the Professional Risk Manager certification program, the PRMIA Standards of Best Practice, Conduct and Ethics and the PRMIA Statements of Standards.
At DrKW, Howitt set up the operational-risk function as a pilot. Among his achievements were building and implementing a workflow platform across the trading floor for loss collation and risk-data reporting. Howitt also established the governance and committee structure for operational- risk management within DrKW and set up a regular risk-assessment process. He is an active member of the regulatory and industry-working groups involved in the consultation process for Basle II.
