Dusseldorf, Germany-based WestLB AG has selected SunGard Trading and Risk Systems' Credient solution for monitoring and controlling credit risk in real-time. The Credient solution will be the center of a new architecture WestLB is adopting for exposure calculation and limit management. Hosted at SunGard Availability Services' European data centers, Credient will be delivered to users through a Web browser. Credient will also have automated deal capture links to WestLB dealing systems.
Four financial institutions have signed on as beta partners to test one or both of OpRisk Analytics' operational-risk-software solutions. The Bank of New York, Deutsche Bank, Fortis Bank and Societe Generale will test OpRisk's OpRisk Monitor, a Web-based internal loss data, control/risk assessment scorecard and risk indicator tool as well as OpRisk VaR, a data-analysis and VaR-modeling tool. Both tools were developed in collaboration with IBM and are scheduled for general release in December.
Westbridge Technology has released its Westbridge XML Message Server (XMS) for securing and monitoring Web services. The Westbridge XMS solution provides XML-application firewall technology to compliment existing network firewalls to secure any XML Web service network. The solution also provides authentication, authorization, encryption, digital-signature support, real-time monitoring, auditing and protection against application-level attack.
Decisioneering has appointed Dr. Johnathan Mun Vice President of Analytical Services. Mun will be responsible for Decisioneering's training and consulting groups and will work to increase the acceptance of risk analysis and modeling within companies. Previously, Mun was a consulting manager in KPMG Consulting's Global Financial Strategies Practice.
