Given the economic and regulatory pressures facing the financial services industry, firms’ technology organizations face some heavy burdens. In fact, some observers have suggested that IT innovation in the United States already has fallen victim to cost and compliance demands. But four of the industry’s top technology leaders would argue otherwise.

Steve Rubinow, EVP and Co-CIO at NYSE Euronext; Jon Beyman, managing director of operations and technology for Citi’s global institutional group; Bank of New York Mellon CIO John Fiore; and Kevin Murray, EVP and CIO of AXA Equitable certainly know a thing or two about IT innovation. While all four acknowledge that technology organizations face enormous demands, and each admits that he can never find too much IT talent, they also insist that IT innovation in the U.S. financial services industry is alive and well.
