Transaction Network Services Penetrates South Africa with Peresys
Transaction Network Services (TNS), a company that delivers business-critical, time-sensitive transaction data, has partnered with Peresys, a South African provider of technology solutions to financial markets, to enable TNS' global financial community to trade with Peresys' South African clients.
Under the terms of the arrangement, TNS and Peresys will partner to ensure seamless trading counterpart connectivity for FIX-based transactions between South African buy-side and broker companies and their trading partners in Europe, Asia and North America.
"This partnership is a vital part of our efforts to make the PerFIX Business Process Network (PerFIX BPN), powered by Cameron Systems, the premier trading gateway into South Africa's financial markets and to ensure our clients benefit from the full functionality available within our trading and messaging solutions," said Ashley Mendelowitz, managing director, Peresys commented in a press release. "TNS is widely recognized as one of the world's leading FIX-enabled networks for electronic trading. Acting on demand amongst brokers and asset managers, the link fits with our strategy of giving customers choice and flexibility in how they access their offshore counterparties."

Rondal H. Filler Joins The Clearing Corporation Board of Directors
The Clearing Corporation (CCorp) announced today that Ronald H. Filler, managing director and director of institutional futures administration with Lehman Brothers, has been appointed to its Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Lehman Brothers in 1993, Filler was with Vedder, Price, Kaufman and Kammholz for eight years where he served as a partner and member of the executive committee. He was a managing partner with Filler Weiner Zaner & Associates from 1980 to 1985, and from 1977 to 1980 was director of managed futures and associate general counsel with ContiCommodity Services, both futures commission merchants. He began his career as an attorney with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 1973.
Michael Dawley, chairman of CCorp's Board of Directors, said in a release: "Ron Filler is a leading industry expert and will be a tremendous asset to The Clearing Corporation's Board. We are delighted to have him serve and look forward to his contributions."
Filler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, a Juris Doctor (with honors) from George Washington University Law School and an LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law School.
