Yes, the employee's use of cloud services does make up most of the usage. That's the risky thing. If banks clamp down on all cloud services, prodtivity will suffer. Plus, employees will always find easier ways to get their job done...and that usually includes the cloud.

thanks for the pointer. Understand that the count includes private cloud services used by employees in their companies, which seems to be the main part, except for WebEx for example. The more worrisome part I think is file sharing services such as Dropbox because you can bet employees do upload company data. Would be interesting to see how many of the affected companies actually use the business/enterprise services offered by e.g. Dropbox or related companies or whether this is consumer use only.

844 cloud services for an average company - where does this data come from?
I'm interested to understand where this number comes from. Is it a public study, private research, which geography is it valid for? The number looks so high that it's hard to believe it is true.
