Mayiz Habbal Joins Celent From Oracle-Siebel
Celent has appointed Mayiz Habbal as the new managing director of its securities and investments group. Habbal joins the Boston-based analyst firm from Oracle-Siebel, where he was VP of engineering strategy. He will be based in Celent's New York office and report to CEO Octavio Marenzi.
In addition to his experience working for a vendor, Habbal has worked with Bank of America as VP of shared technology services and as deputy CIO of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. He also has held multiple technology roles at UBS.
Habbal says that he doesn't anticipate his move into the world of industry analysis and consulting to be a major change for him. "I have been acting as an internal consultant throughout my entire career," he relates. "This is always how I looked at my function in different organizations." --C.L.
