SunGard is integrating its VPM with Bloomberg’s hedge fund suite in a bid to help firms manage risk more effectively while boosting their investor reporting capabilities.

SunGard said its VPM’s general ledger and reporting offering will be combined with Bloomberg’s execution platform, order management system, and the Bloomberg Tradebook. The new service will be delivered on an application service provider basis, the company added.

“This integration allows us to offer fund managers a portfolio accounting system that integrates directly into Bloomberg’s front and middle office,” Julie Rice, SunGard’s managing director for alternative investments said in a statement. “An integrated general ledger helps funds independently produce reports to accurately track investments and provide institutional investors timely reports.”
