Nasdaq OMX Teams With SunGard to Provide Risk Analytics
Nasdaq OMX is aiming to help investment firms manage risk more effectively through a new set of analytics available through SunGard's APT.
The exchange operator said that by using SunGard’s APT, firms will be able to get better insight into a number of its indexes through risk modeling, reporting, risk attribution and scenario analysis.
“Five years ago, many investors were less concerned about financial risk but as we emerge from the global financial crisis, risk management is now essential to a comprehensive investment strategy,” John Jacobs, an executive vice president at Nasdaq OMX Global Index Group, said in a statement.
SunGard’s APT will provide risk analytics for the Nasdaq-100, Nasdaq Clean Edge Green Energy, Nasdaq OMX Clean Edge Smart Grid Infrastructure, Nasdaq OMX CRD Global Sustainability 50, and Wilder Nasdaq OMX Global Energy Efficient Transport indexes.
“Investors in the current economic climate are looking for more transparent risk assessments of global indexes,” Julie Rice, a managing director at SunGard’s alternative investments division added in a statement.
