EMC Improves ILM

EMC Corp. has released Infoscape, a platform designed to enable institutions to search all corporate information in file systems.

EMC Corp. has released Infoscape, a platform designed to enable institutions to search all corporate information in file systems. According to the company, the solution automates information lifecycle management services, including data security, and automatically classifies information based on business value, manages the retention of unstructured information for compliance, and facilitates policy-based and automated data migration across a tiered storage infrastructure.

"Infoscape provides customers with a number of capabilities that have been missing in today's information management products," said Mark Sorenson, EMC's SVP of information management software, in a release. "Through file metadata and content-based classification, Infoscape gives customers visibility into their data so that it can be better managed according to its value."
