Sapient Evaluates Current State of Data Management
Boston–based technology provider, Sapient Global Markets, has launched the Data Management Maturity Assessment (DMMA) to help firms evaluate stakeholder perceptions of data management maturity across the organization, according to a release.
“It provides insights as to a current state of management initiatives throughout the enterprise, with a reflection of what is important from every perception from every participant that has taken the survey,” says Gavin Kaimowitz, director at Sapient Global Markets.
The survey asks 12 questions across data operations, platform and architecture, data management strategy and data quality topics, as well as questions that ask the participant to rate categories, ask for their opinions and what is a priority in data management.

Kaimowitz adds, “We are able to not only give a perception of the current status, but also give an actionable heat map about what is important for the firm to focus on.”
The assessment has approximately 10 firms participating. According to Kaimowitz, some firms are using the survey internally while others have consultants facilitate and analyze the data.
The process to create the assessment started in January, as a measure to provide a data management maturity model (DMM) based on sentiment in order to show levels of engagement. The DMMA by Sapient is based on the DMM imitative by the Enterprise Data Management Council, a business forum that promotes data management as a priority.
