CBSX Daily Volume Exceeded 100 Million Shares

Equity exchange surpassed 100 million shares in daily volume for the first time since it was launched in 2007.

Volume on the CBOE Stock Exchange LLC (CBSX) surpassed 100 million shares for the first time, yesterday, reports the exchange.

Trading volume on Tuesday, Aug. 24 totaled a daily record of 118.8 million shares, exceeding 100 million shares in daily volume for the first time since CBSX was launched in 2007.

CBSX share volume recently has established new records on several trading days: August 20 (90.8 million shares); August 12 (63.7 million shares); and July 23 (59.8 million shares).

The CBSX offers trading in more than 7,700 equities and exchanged traded funds (ETFs) listed on U.S. securities markets. CBSX operates as a facility of Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and uses CBOE’s technology. For equity traders, CBSX provides the ability to trade directly with CBOE’s equity options order flow. CBOE and a consortium of financial entities own the CBSX.
