BIDS Brings On Richard Levin as CCO

Newly formed alternative trading system BIDS Trading (New York) has found its chief compliance officer in Richard Levin. He will be based in New York and report to CEO Timothy Mahoney and BIDS' board of directors.

Levin most recently served as general counsel and CCO for EquiLend Holdings. He also has held legal and compliance roles at NexTrade Holdings and Knight Trading Group. Levin cites his affinity for the challenge of young enterprises as what drove him to BIDS. "I've been with a number of start-ups, and I think I'm a bit of a start-up junkie," he relates.

Technology will be a key element of success in his role, adds Levin. He says he intends to work with the BIDS technology organization to develop internal compliance processes as well as look to integrate external technologies as part of his efforts to maintain the organization's regulatory compliance. --C.L.
