Recent Executive Appointments at Jordan & Jodan, Nasdaq and AquaElectronic Trading Guru Joins Jordan & Jordan Tim Chapman has been appointed director, management consultant in Jordan & Jordan's Management Consulting Practice, focusing on electronic trading tools and market strategies. Chapman will work with clients, to address issues and the changing market environment for Order Management Systems, Execution Management Systems, market structure and electronic trading. In addition he will help clients working on Reg NMS and MiFID implementation and compliance. Previously, Chapman was a senior consultant in the capital markets group at BearingPoint and has also held positions at Knight Capital Group and Merrill Lynch.
New Vice Chairman at Nasdaq Nasdaq announced that the Honorable Michael Oxley has been appointed non-executive Vice Chairman of the stock market. Oxley will work with public company executives and board members and help with outreach to listed companies on public policy issues. He will also advise Nasdaq President and CEO Bob Greifield and the Board of Directors. Oxley served in the U.S. Congress for 25 years and is a former Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.
Aqua Makes Strategic Tech Hires Brian Weston has been appointed chief technology officer (CTO) of Aqua, the new equities trading platform from eSpeed, which is readying for a launch this summer. Previously senior vice president of new markets development at eSpeed, Weston will now focus on developing and shaping the technology behind Aqua. Weston was also involved in the design and development of OMNI, an object-oriented currency and commodity derivatives middle office system at Goldman Sachs.
Building on its technology team, Brian Gay also recently joined Aqua as vice president, global head of integration services with additional responsibilities in product management and operations at the ATS. Gay was previously vice president at TransactTools focused on business development, sales and account management. Aqua will be an alternative trading system (ATS) for block liquidity for institutions, brokers and hedge funds in the global equities markets.
