Penson To Raise Funds For Haiti With “Trade To Help Day”
Penson Financial Services Inc. and many of its broker-dealer customers will raise funds for the humanitarian effort in Haiti with a “Trade to Help Day” on Wednesday, January 27.
PFSI and participating broker-dealers will donate all net proceeds from its Trade Aggregation Program (TAP) above the base tier trade cost on Nasdaq, the NYSE’s Arca and DirectEdge to Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres.
In a statement, Dan Son, President and Co-Founder of Penson, said, “Doctors Without Borders is an international medical humanitarian organization that has been working in Haiti for 19 years. It is currently operating three emergency hospitals in Port-au-Prince and is mobilizing a large emergency response to the January 12th earthquake that devastated Haiti.”
Bill Yancey, President and CEO of PFSI, added, “Participation on the part of broker dealers is voluntary; Penson, however, will donate 100 percent of its portion to the effort. It is in this time of great need that we have the opportunity to join together as business partners and an industry to make a difference.”
