Barclays Capital and Barclays Global Investors has agreed to a partnership with Mark-IT Partners, a credit-risk-pricing operation based in St Albans, England. Barclays Capital will have access to Mark-IT's services including daily mark-to-market data for global-credit-default swaps and cash bonds, CDS-curve analytics, sector-curve construction and the associated set of historical data. In return, Barclays Capital will provide the vendor with its historical and current credit data. Mark-IT will also be used by portfolio managers in Barclay's fund-management division, BGI, to help with investment decisions and provide independent-daily valuation of credit portfolios.
Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein is a new retail-service provider on the online market-data system from Proquote. The United Kingdom-based software and data-services provider, which was acquired by the London Stock Exchange in January 2003, will gain DrKW's equities trading and pricing. Proquote users will have access to the firm's full range of U.K. stocks to compliment the already existing retail-service providers of Merrill Lynch, Winterflood Securities, Aitken Campbell, KBC Peel Hunt and Evolution Beeson Gregory.
