Global Investment Systems (GIS), a provider of global investment management systems, has signed the Citco Group and Deerfield International Administrative Services to use MFACT, its mutual fund accounting system software. Deerfield, located in Nassau Bahamas, is a startup organization, and Citco is a worldwide organization of financial service companies consisting of international banks, trust and fund companies that provide corporate/ fiduciary, and fund administration and advisory services. GIS will install MFACT at the Curacao-based Citco Fund Services. MFACT is designed for "in-house" operations to support all aspects and phases of investment and financial accounting for pooled investment funds -- in particular, funds that must compute a regular Net Asset Value (NAV).

The National Investment Company Service Association (NICSA) is holding the Technology Forum 2000, titled "Ahead of the Curve: Innovation for Financial Services," at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel on May 10-11. The two-day forum will focus on such topics as customer relationship management, the latest trends in Web tools and technologies, investment advice on the Web, Internet/intranet development and straight-through processing. Speakers will include Don Alden, vice president of e-commerce at Putnam Investments, Peter Biciunas, senior vice president, Fidelity Investments, and Robert DiStefano, managing director of the Vanguard Group. The Institute for International Research is holding the Increasing Investment Management Operations Efficiencies conference on May 15-16 at the Empire Hotel in New York City. The two-day conference will focus on such issues as current theories poised to impact the buy and sell sides, the benefits of total straight-through processing, implementation and testing strategies for decimalization, increasing trade volume and effectively communicating information using the FIX protocol. Selkirk Financial Technologies Inc., a provider of treasury management solutions, announced today that it has received investment funding from Wachovia Capital Associates Inc. The funding will provide Selkirk with additional resources to continue its expansion in the U.S. market. Selkirk has experienced greater than 100 percent revenue growth in each of the past three years. Funding from Wachovia Capital Associates is a significant milesone for Selkirk, representing the first capital injection into the firm to provide funds for increased marketing activities and product research and development. Selkirk offers its flagship software product, Treasury Manager, professional implementation services, and technical support to its clients.
