Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, has rolled out OpenLink's Endur system in support of its commodities group. Endur, a trading and risk management system, will initially be used for trading of UK power contracts. In the future, the bank's commodities group plans to trade UK gas and European power contracts via Endur.
Instinet, the global-agency brokerage firm that runs the largest ECN, has reported that seventeen new institutional clients recently went live with Newport -- a direct-access trading system. Newport has been built to meet the needs of portfolio managers and traders who execute basket trades. The new clients, Instinet says, went live at the end of August.
Nyfix, a provider of order-routing and execution systems specializing in listed equities markets, has named Mark Hahn its chief financial officer. Hahn, who recently served as the vice president and controller for Modem Media, will report directly to Nyfix President and CEO Peter Kilbinger Hansen.
Fidelity Capital Markets, the institutional trading arm of Fidelity Investments, has signed a networking deal with Radianz. The agreement calls for Fidelity to use RadianzNet, Radianz's global financial extranet, to provide FIX connectivity and electronic-trading services to its institutional clients.
