5. What Matters Most?
It's no surprise, despite the numerous corporate HR surveys that say otherwise, that base pay is the single most important part of a job, with IT staff respondents continually indicating it is the most important factor in every survey since 2010. This year, 51% said base pay was the most important factor, declining from 55% last year. With slightly fewer respondents saying pay was the most important, the number of IT professionals indicating that job stability was important increased, from 42% in 2011 to 44% in 2012. With so much uncertainty in the financial services business, is it a surprise that job stability is on the top of minds of workers?
