Diane Schueneman, the former senior vice president and head of Merrill Lynch's $4 billion Global Infrastructure Solutions group, has been appointed to the board of Capco, a provider of consulting and technology services for the financial services industry. Her appointment is effective immediately.

During her more than 36-year career at Merrill Lynch, Ms. Schueneman was responsible for the technology, infrastructure, client services and worldwide operations of the firm's Capital Markets and Private Wealth & Asset Management divisions and oversaw 16,000 employees.

"Diane's vast knowledge of the financial industry and how to drive change will provide the board with invaluable insight as we undertake our global growth strategy and vision of staying at the forefront of market transformation through participation," said Rob Heyvaert, founder and CEO, Capco. "As the first woman appointed to our board, Capco is leading by example as we set out to build a global workforce that is experience-driven, dedicated to service excellence and embraces diversity. Diane's distinguished career exemplifies Capco's commitment to growth, innovation and technology and operations service excellence."

We met the gracious Schueneman at a luncheon for IT recruits from disadvantaged neighborhoods participating in a program called Year Up, which Merrill and Morgan Stanley sponsor and on whose board Schueneman also sits, in July 2007. We wish her well in her new role.
