Gary Gensler, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), says that most important thing that needs to happen to the over the counter derivatives market is comprehensive reform. “The number one thing is transparency,” just like when securities are traded in the public market and everyone knows the price and the volumes. “We need to bring that same reform to this large and unregulated market,” Gensler said in an interview with MSNBC.
