Tim Lind Joins Omgeo In Strategy Role
Tim Lind, previously SVP of product management and strategy at GoldenSource, has joined Omgeo as managing director, strategic planning. Lind, who will report directly to president and CEO Marianne Brown, says he will be responsible for working with many areas within Omgeo, including sales and product management, and will be tasked with searching for areas of growth, particularly in certain types of derivatives where post-trade confirmations are alarmingly slow.
Interviewed at the end of his first full day with Omgeo this past Monday, Lind says it was a little too soon to speculate about specific goals that he might have in his new role. After all, Lind spent most of his first day at the company on the golf course, at an Omgeo offsite company meeting. "I would love to talk about some specific goals, but I have a lot of learning to do," he says. "I need to work with and talk with the team members here before I can answer that question."
Lind says he was attracted to Omgeo because he "has been a fan of Omgeo for years," adding that they have always had a great reputation and that "being a Boston guy, I had known many of the Thomson people and had admired the market leadership Omgeo has shown." Lind was also impressed by CEO Brown. "She is very aggressive and outgoing and I knew her reputation from her days at ADP. Many of her former colleagues spoke very highly of her. When I met her and saw her personality, her I knew it would be a great fit."
